After graduating from high school in Baltimore, Charlie earned a degree in English from St. John's University in Collegeville, Minnesota. He played D-III football, but soon switched it out for rugby. He continued to play + coach rugby for the next 15 years, + today he stays involved with the sport as much as his knees + shoulder will let him. Charlie is now based in St. Paul, MN, where has has been since 2006. He has been teaching grades 6-12 in the public school system since 2008. He earned a master's degree in Education from Hamline University just this year. In addition to rugby, Charlie also plays bass in a gigging metal-odic death metal band. He lives with his wife Elise (who is also a teacher), their daughter, Eleanor, + Jackson, a profoundly ridiculous dog.
